Above all, we always bear in mind that the massive energy of the planets could possibly influence our perceptions or actions but do not feel that they overpower our will to choose!
This is also why, in many Astro posts, the language may sound super vague. It's better to think of it as broad. When you read 'Saturn represents rules and/or foundations' you think, 'well that could mean something different to everybody' and that is exactly right. A force like 'Saturn energy' could do a million different things to a million different people. But it will be related to some basic structure of their lives as opposed to, say, their goals or trips-that would be related to Jupiter.
The most powerful way to use astrology is over time, as a lens both forward and backward. Think of things that have happened in your life that seemed to be triggered by forces outside of yourself. Go back and look at the planets' positions around that time. Look ahead at planetary relationships/events that will relate to your chart and consider how you might use that kind of energy. It is only with practice and also intuition that you will begin to feel and see patterns that connect your life to the cosmos.
